Odoo provides features of expiry products management. You can easily track the products based on their expiry date. You can sell the products with least expiry first. In odoo you can set an alert date by which user can set alert date for a specific tracked product in stock. Only the products with tracking can use product expiry.  With Odoo, you can track your products based on their expiration dates, even if they are already tracked by lots or serial numbers. The following blog explains the concept of Expiry Products In Odoo. 

Go to >Settings and check the Expiration Dates.

You can set expiration dates in two ways.

  • From the product template view
  • Inventory Lots/Serial Numbers

You can set four different dates by which you can manage product expiry.

  • Product Use Time
  • Life Time
  • Product Removal Time
  • Product Alert Time

In the product template you can set the expiration dates for all the lots and serial number at a time.

Go to Inventory > Lots/Serial Numbers > Dates

Here you can set the expiration dates for a specific serial number or lot

You can also control the stock on the basis of expiry date. If the user set First Expiry First Out(FEFO). The stock will be removed from the stock on the basis of Removal Date .

If the alert date set for the product, there will be an alert for the user that the product is near to expiry based on the alert date set by user.
