Multi Step Route Operations For Product Moves In Odoo

Odoo supports Multi Step Route Operations For Product Moves. In many cases, there are multiple steps in the routing process. Different companies have a different process when an order is confirmed. For example, The order is confirmed having two products from the same warehouse. In the warehouse, the products might be in different locations So, the first process is to pick both the products and bring to an out point at the warehouse. Next process is to pack both products and sent out for delivery.

In Odoo, we do multi-step route operations to do these operations.

Firstly, Go to >Inventory module >Settings, check >Multi-Step Routes 

Here we have things to set  >Set Warehouse Routes and  >Set Put away  Strategies on locations

First one is the routes inside a warehouse and the second one is setting default locations for a return product or for a scrap product etc.

Our case is the first one. I have selected >Set Warehouse Routes. You can see lists of the warehouse.

Select the required warehouse. Now in the >Outgoing Shipments select  >Bring goods to output location before shipping (Pick + Ship).

Now click the save button to save the changes.

Next, we need to create the sales order. Now when you click >confirm sale after creating the sales order. You can see on the right top of the sales order that, two delivery process is created.

On clicking on the delivery, you can see two stock operations. First one is picking from the warehouse to the out point and the next is to move the stock from out point to the customer.

Here you can see two processes created at inventory dashboard. Now select the pick to do the first step in routing. You can see pick process in the list. Select the process.

Now ensure that the product stock is available. Click on the reserve the product to reserve the product. Now click on validate to move the product from the warehouse to out point.

Now, for the delivery process select the >Delivery Orders from the dashboard.

Click >To Do. You can see the delivery process in the list. Select the process.

Now click on validate to move the product from out point to the customer.

Now you can check >Sales Orders, >Delivery. You can see the status of both operations as Done.
