Packages & Tracking in Odoo 13

Package is a physical container in which you put one or several product in it. By default, Odoo does not take into account the use of it. In Odoo, you have the possibility to deliver your products in different packages, depending on the volume and or weight of your products. For that, one need to enable the delivery packages in the inventory module. In this blog, we will discuss in detail on Odoo 13 Packages and Tracking.

Go to inventory module, Configuration--> Settings.

Under the operations tab, tick the check box against the Delivery Packages.

Also one need to enable the traceability feature in Odoo inventory to use the tracking of the products.

Go to Configuration --> Settings, under Traceability tab. Tick the check box against the fields that you want for tracking the product.

Go to Master products-->Products, to select a product and also enable traceability.

Lots/Serial Numbers

Under the inventory tab in the product wizard, you will be able to see the traceability options. Select one and manage them in the Lots/serial Numbers tab in the upper right corner.

Up on clicking the lots/Serial number, provide a unique number to the product.

Now create lots/ serial number to other products that you want to track in a similar way.

Lets create a sale order to see the actual work flow.

Go to Sales module, Orders--> Quotation --> Create.

Add the products, save and confirm the sale. You can its been ready for the delivery.

• Click on the Delivery tab.
• Provide the lot/serial number created.

• Click on the put in pack to pack the items.
• You will be able to see the Packages tab can be seen on the top right corner.

• Click on the Packages to see the packing number and other details.

• Now hit the validate button to confirm the sale order of the specified quantities.

Now can see the traceability tab also on the top right corner. Click on that tab to see the tracking details.
