The Planning module in Odoo v18 helps in scheduling employees' work shifts, a crucial foundational aspect of any organization. After installing the Planning application, users can easily create shifts by accessing the module. Upon doing so, they are redirected to the Schedule Dashboard, which displays the schedules on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
The scheduling menu allows you to schedule activities based on resources, roles, projects, and sales orders. You can view the timetable by resource and choose between daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly views based on your needs.
You can easily view the total hours worked by an employee for the selected day, week, month, or year next to their name. If an employee is scheduled for overlapping shifts, a small red label will indicate the conflict.
Click the "new" button to create a new activity. A pop-up window will appear to add all the necessary details. You can complete the required actions by clicking the "Publish & Send" button and the "Save" button to save the shift, respectively.
